INTRODUCTION
We are two brothers from New Hampshire who love working alongside each other as much as we do crafting beautiful work with our hands. We understand the power of customer satisfaction and word of mouth — therefore we are impeccable with our words, transparent with our communication, and have an obsessive eye for detail and perfection.
Our philosophy at EMD Builders is simple and can be summed up in one word: Quality
To us quality is more than just an adjective to describe our work. It is a state of mind. It is something we do and something that we strive to be. Quality informs every decision we make and is why we do things the way that we do. It is why we obsess about the details and why we are always looking for a better way. From the moment you contact us to long after the job is done we want you to be able to describe the entire process as quality.

Core Values
Pride in craftsmanship is evident in every joint we cut, every nail we drive, and in the way we maintain our job sites. It is why we put that little bit extra into every job and why we are relentless in our search for a better and more efficient way. Pride in craftsmanship makes the mundane interesting, the unpleasant fun, and the difficult challenges of every project worthwhile. If the job is done, we are satisfied with our work, and the customer is happy we call that a good day and it makes it easier to get up the next and do it all over again.
Humility
Pride if untempered by humility is destructive. A humble person recognizes that they are nothing more than a steward of the talents they have been given, the opportunities in front of them, and the resources at their disposal. The humble person is in awe of the sacrifices that others have made and approaches all things with a sense of responsibility instead of entitlement. A humble person recognizes their shortcomings and works to make them into strengths. A humble person treats others with the respect that is their due. A humble carpenter recognizes that as a subcontractor they are a representative of the contractor and conducts themselves accordingly.
Candor
Timely and honest communication keeps everyone on the same page limiting misunderstandings and surprises. If we see a way to speed up a project or cut cost without compromising quality we communicate it. If a problem arises we address it and offer solutions. Candor means telling the truth regardless of who, what, when ,or where.
Integrity
We will not allow ourselves to find ourselves in a position where we compromise our core values or ask anyone else to do the same. We will always do things the right way because that is simply the way they should be done. We will always accept accountability because there is nothing to hide. We will always treat others fairly and with respect because that is how they deserve to be treated.
Guiding Principles
1. “Show up when you say you are going to show up. Underpromise and overdeliver”
2. “Our aim is to always make the process smooth and enjoyable for homeowners. People spend a lot of their hard-earned money and they should enjoy doing it VS it being a stressful inconvenience.”
3. “Always always call people back even if only to tell them you can’t take the work because you’re too busy and try to refer them someone you trust”
4. “Leave the jobsite cleaner than when you got there.. every day”
5. “Don’t avoid the hard conversations and always be up front with people, it makes life easier”
6. “Mistakes are necessary for growth”
7. “ALWAYS bring Dale Bishop (a great friend and mentor who has been a plumber for longer than I am old) a coffee when you’re meeting him”
8. “We are in peoples home, not a ‘job site'”
9. We treat every job for what it is: the work will be there long after we are gone and our names are on it.
10. “It doesn’t matter if you ‘can’t see it OR nobody will notice’ you know it’s there and it should bother you if you leave it.”
